The realm of personal swimming pools is a daunting expanse, and it can be a daunting one indeed. One of the most attractive methods of pool installation is an in-ground or underwater personal pool. Typically composed of three different materials, fiberglass, shotcrete, and vinyl-lined pools can be found in above-ground pools. The first of these, fiberglass pools, is an attractive option for many, and for good reason. Fiberglass pool configurations allow an average budget approach to lower maintenance, easier pool options. While it’s impossible to shape the perimeter of the pool to your liking, fiberglass areas allow for faster installation, as well as a less expensive cleaning method that requires less time and often doesn’t require acid baths and excessive scrubbing.

Another method of pool installation lies in the form of a spray gun application. Shotcrete, or cement and sand, is mixed with water where it is applied and sprayed onto the surface of the pool. This provides virtually limitless potential for a variety of pool shapes, for example, to match or conform to a homeowner’s unique backyard. Gunite installation takes 8-12 weeks and may require a higher cost premium. Shotcrete tanks typically allow concrete to mix with water, alter pH acidity levels, and require additional chemicals to be mixed into the water to balance the concrete’s excursion. Additionally, many homeowners gain a greater degree of flexibility and appeal by having to create additional features, such as stairs, that will be built into the shell of the fiberglass pool frame.

Finally, vinyl lined pools are those that allow a layer of vinyl to be applied to the inside of their structure and are used to protect the structure from build-up and algae. Vinyl-lined pools often have less flexibility in application because the unique shape often doesn’t fit into the personalized perimeter of many themed pools, etc. Vinyl linings in swimming pools are often affected by pH and chemical composition, as various chemicals can collect on the bottom of the lining and bleach, discolor, or compromise its overall integrity, especially if left for long periods of time.

Vinyl liners may also find themselves prone to leaks, and a wet patch kit is often required to repair those breakages most commonly found between the seams of vinyl layers. If a leak is suspected, a leak detection officer can be hired to assess the integrity of the suspected leak. There are a number of options to consider when determining which type of swimming pool will best suit the needs and perimeter of your projected location or environment, but given the variety of different swimming pool types, all of the many styles available allow for determining which type will affect these factors. Give the best attention.
